It allows us to learn about the proposals set forward in this forum to fully excercise our rights and find out opportunities to implement them.<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These recommendations are useful to <strong>indigenous peoples, women and youth organizations and their partners<\/strong> (human rights defenders, NGOs, etc.) to<strong> advocate<\/strong> before States, United Nations bodies, other international mechanisms and spaces, and the private sector.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>What is a recommendation of the Permanent Forum?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/4&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/4&#8243;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p>Following each session of the Permanent Forum &#8211; where indigenous peoples from around the world participation &#8211; a report is published including <strong>recommendations<\/strong> prepared by the expert members. Each one features a <strong>goal, <\/strong>has <strong>strategic orientation <\/strong>and shows the<strong> potential future actions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_message]<\/p>\n<h5><strong>How can I use a recommendation?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your country&#8217;s government has invited your organization to participate in a consultation on intercultural health. You can use Yanapaq.info to look for recommendations of the Permanent Forum on <a href=\"http:\/\/18.232.190.24\/yanapaq.info\/search\/results-en.htm?search=health\">health<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/18.232.190.24\/yanapaq.info\/search\/results-en.htm?search=traditional+medicine\">traditional medicine<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/18.232.190.24\/yanapaq.info\/search\/results-en.htm?search=indigenous+midwifery\">indigenous midwifery<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/18.232.190.24\/yanapaq.info\/search\/results-en.htm?search=traditional+knowledge\">traditional knowledge<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/18.232.190.24\/yanapaq.info\/search\/results-en.htm?search=HIV%2FAIDS\">HIV\/AIDS<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/18.232.190.24\/yanapaq.info\/search\/results-en.htm?search=sexual+and+reproductive+health\">sexual and reproductive health<\/a>, among others. The Forum has annual sessions from 2002 onwards.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Implementation: <\/strong>based on available information, the secretariat of the Permanent Forum classifies each recommendation as <strong>No information<\/strong>, <strong>Not initiated<\/strong>, <strong>Ongoing<\/strong>, <strong>Completed<\/strong> or <strong>Retired<\/strong>. We must take into account that the lack of follow-up information is a barrier. Thus, most of the recommendations are classified as<strong> &#8220;No information&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Topics:<\/strong> the Yanapaq.info Team has analyzed each recommendation and tagged them with keywords referring to specific topics relevant to indigenous peoples.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SDGs:<\/strong> the Yanapaq.info Team has also linked each recommendation to the <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainabledevelopment.un.org\/\">Sustainable Development Goals<\/a> or 2030 Agenda, which make up an agenda with 17 global priorities. Achieving the goals would lead to the prosperity of the world population, poverty eradication and protection of the environment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Destination: <\/strong>each recommendation is addressed to<strong> States (sometimes, one specific country), United Nations bodies, intergovernmental organizations and other relevant groups and actors <\/strong>to its topic. For example, there is a recommendation addressed to the <a href=\"http:\/\/18.232.190.24\/yanapaq.info\/search\/cluster-en.htm?type=target&amp;id=359\">Green Climate Fund<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Areas of Work: <\/strong>each recommendation is included in one or more areas of work that make up the Permanent Forum mandate. There are six main mandated areas and others that have been included over time.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Articles of the UNDRIP: <\/strong>the <a href=\"https:\/\/undocs.org\/en\/A\/RES\/61\/295\">United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples<\/a>, adopted in 2007, is the most important international instrument that states and protects the rights of the world&#8217;s indigenous peoples. In its 46 articles, the Declaration establishes the right to equality and non-discrimination, self-determination and self-government, land and territory, and to live in freedom and without violence.
